Field trip to the river!

The last two forest field trips we have gone on were to the river to let the kids play in the water. It was really fun. The kids wore their swimsuits and both times we went the weather was gorgeous.
Our bus ride to the river was quite an adventure. For our wilderness field trips it always seams to go that way. We are on actual roads until we get close then we veered off to a small dirt side road down a cliff… well at least that’s what it seemed like to me. It was pretty scary. It was a tight squeeze to drive a car down that road much less a van. On top of that… when we were leaving the first time another car was coming down at the same time so our van had to drive into the ditch in order to let the car by. Our van barely made it back to the road… lets just say that wouldn’t happen at field trips in Minnesota.
When we first arrived to the river there were two guides waiting to take the kids up a dirt road looking for dragonflies. After about an hour of catching dragonflies it’s time for lunch. The kids all pack their kimba, fruit, and juice. The first field trip Amy (my director) prepared korean bbq for us to have and the second time we had a bunch of kimbap and ramen. When the kids are done with lunch they got to play in the water all afternoon. The second time we went we dunked Elizabeth teacher in the water. It was really funny. The field trips are always so fun.  I love going outside with the kids and playing.
